This National Park is a nature preserve area in northern Courland that includes Kolka and the villages and settlements around it, as well. The Park’s particular topography and related soil conditions (swampy / sandy) combined with the coastal climate provide the protected fauna and flora with ideal living conditions. And the Park is, of course, a paradise for lovers of undisturbed nature, who have a multitude of choices to select their individual trekking routes from.

Cape Kolka in springtime becomes a birdwatchers paradise, because a great number of birds cross this area during migration. Look what has observed Chris Kehoe in spring 2012&2013.
